Crafted from blackstrap molasses and distilled in a traditional copper pot still, this exceptional South African rum is matured for a full decade—five years in seasoned bourbon barrels, followed by a further five years in Boplaas Tawny Port casks. The result is a richly layered spirit that reflects both provenance and patience.
On the nose, expect inviting aromas of rich caramel, toasted oak, and ripe dark fruit, underpinned by subtle spice.
The palate is bold and full-bodied, delivering waves of molasses sweetness, dried figs and plums, with layers of vanilla, oak, and warming spice from the Port cask influence.
The finish is long, intense, and satisfying, with lingering notes of dark fruit, spice, and a gentle oak dryness.
